Whereis® has partnered with NearMap.com to offer extensive aerial imagery coverage of all Australian capital cities, plus some selected regional areas.
This partnership enables you to pair clear, current and changing PhotoMaps with our range of digital map products.
Product Features
- Photographs were captured with low-flying planes to provide a true ‘bird’s eye’ view
- Aerial imagery has been captured, for the most part, by Vexcel’s UltraCam D digital camera system at a resolution (pixel size) of 15cm or better
- Orthorectified to remove the effect of terrain relief displacement
- Fully geo-referenced for compatibility with GIS applications
- Data has been captured, processed and stored digitally, resulting in clearer images than scanned conventional film images. This camera produces large format digital images that are superior in resolution and clarity to conventional film camera images.
Benefits

- Terrain data posting is 120cm with 15cm vertical relative accuracy, making it comparable to LIDAR-generated terrain data, at a fraction of the cost
- Nearmap supports the WMS (Web Map Server) service protocol, which is often used by GIS and CAD applications.
- The WMS service is available to paid Government Licence users.
